Project: Mapping Practices for Organizing Interdisciplinary Education

The Network for Administrators Involved in Interdisciplinary Initiatives (NAT) convened on November 12th and 13th, 2024, at Voksen?sen Hotel to map the service journey of an interdisciplinary study program.

Goal

The journey aimed to acquaint participants with all the details and identify the administrative challenges and opportunities that arise when working with interdisciplinary initiatives. A service journey can be understood as a "step-by-step description of how the existing service is delivered and experienced." The objective was to uncover hidden aspects, particularly within administrative work, and reveal processes that are crucial for understanding when one wants to develop interdisciplinary initiatives.

Insights

The insights and findings from this service journey were presented by NAT to a working group tasked with evaluating how UiO can clarify the regulations for bachelor program structures and highlight flexibility within the current framework.

Establishing Tools

INTED is currently working on further developing the project into a comprehensive tool for planning and implementing interdisciplinary teaching.
